Happy New Year! I hope everyone is safe and healthy. It has been a difficult week so let\'s talk about something simple and exciting in light of recent events. It has been a long time since I have gone to a bar and hoping to go to one this year. It has been so long that I can\'t remember, depending on the place, when ordering a drink, they will tell me the brand of the spirit that will be used for mixed cocktails unless you request it. That has always bothered me because I want a great cocktail and want to know every component from the freshly squeezed juice to the spirit of the brand. I think you don\'t need to look any further than Empress 1908 Gin. I highly recommend it for many of the classic gin drinks and gives off this incredible aura.
Ingredients:
- 2 ounces of Empress 1908 Gin (Highly recommend
- 1 ounce of freshly squeezed Lemon Juice
- Optional 1/2 ounce of simple syrup if it tastes a little too tart
- 2-4 ounce of club soda
- Garnish with raspberries and crush them to change the color of the drink
Method:
- In a large shaker, combine the Empress gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup with ice.
- Shake thoroughly and pour into a cold glass.
- Top the glass with club soda and garnish with raspberries.
Having incredible spirits, freshly squeezed juice and other components improves the look and style of the drink. Experimenting with garnishes and working with different flavor profiles really brings a new twist to this classic drink. Long Live Emperor Tom!
