The Beauty of Cooking Failures

It has been 10 days since my last post. Although I have been busy between work in real life and maintaining other ideas, I have been developing some new dishes and ideas. Some have succeeded while others failed (don’t worry I didn’t poison myself or anything). After reflecting for a couple of days, I have learned something about cooking that I have never really came across in cooking and that is failing.  Failure is an important lesson to take to the kitchen. Not everything goes your way and sometimes you have to start over. You can\'t predict the success of recipe testing by simply combining ingredients that are going to work. You have to find the consistencies, the right amount and really reflect on the synergy of these ingredients.  Taking this lesson early on while trying to provide new content for this blog changed my perspective on what I want to accomplish on this platform: I want to provide wonderful and incredible quality recipes that everyone can do and if it takes some extra time for me to get it right before posting, then I need to accept it.

The beauty of failures in the kitchen is a lesson in humility and perseverance. Are we going to be defeated by this dish and move on or are we going to obsess and make it perfect? I don’t think there is any issue with either action. Personally, I went with the latter option and have been working on ways to improve difference areas of the dish.  I have been working on a new take of the classic Greek gyro and even though it turned out well, it wasn’t ready to be brought online. There are some ideas that I wanted to fix, and I obsessed on it while not thinking about my other recipes and designs, about you guys. So please accept my apologies and know that I am engaging back into new ideas and bringing them to life so we can all enjoy amazing cooking together.
