The Prickly Punch

I am really excited about the upcoming holiday season, especially the fun drinks that come out during this season like a hot toddy, eggnog, or mulled wine. On Thanksgiving, I was introduced to another incredible DC brand located in Ivy City, Don Ciccio & Figli. They have an incredible set of liqueurs and I visited their vendor at the Dupont Circle Farmers market that weekend and bought a bottle of their prickly pear. Since then, I have been having fun using their prickly pear liqueur to make new drinks and this is the first of hopefully many drinks to come.

Ingredients:

2 ounces of gin (Vitae or Aviation preferably)

1 ounce of prickly pear liqueur

.5- .75 ounce of ginger simple syrup

.5- .75 ounce of cranberry concentrate

.5 ounce of lime juice

2-3 ounces of club soda

Method:

  1. Combine gin, prickly pear liqueur, ginger simple syrup (see my simple syrup recipe here), cranberry concentrate, and lemon juice in one ice shaker.
  2. Shake to combine and in a cold glass and top with a bit of club soda.
  3. Add raspberries or blackberries for garnish.
