Ted Lasso: Lemon Lavender Mojito

https://youtu.be/maVF65wC6w4

"If you get dealt lemons in life, then you should make lemon-lavender mojitos!" Deborah aka Rebecca's Mom aka Ted Lasso Season 2: The Signal (my favorite episode so far). What a fantastic idea, let's make it.

Traditionally, mojitos use lime juice, but I am so curious about what Rebecca's mom sees with this lemon-lavender mojito. Nevertheless, mojitos are refreshing perfect as the seasons are beginning to change. I will have to say this change to a classic cocktail could be awesome and I have a couple of ideas to make her version of this analogy come true.  See what I do below:

Lemon Lavender Mojito

Ingredients:

2 oz Light Rum

1 oz infused simple syrup (see below)

.75 oz lemon juice

5-8 muddled mint leaves

3 oz club soda

Optional: Splash of Creme de Violette

Garnish with a bouquet of mint leaves and lime wheel

Method:

  1. Combine rum, simple syrup, lemon juice, and mint leaves in a cold cocktail shaker.
  2. Shake thoroughly and place in a tall ice glass.
  3. Top with club soda
  4. Garnish with mint and lime wheel

Lemon Lavender Simple Syrup

Ingredients:

2-3 teaspoons of Lavender

1 tablespoon of Lemon Zest

1/2 cup of sugar

1 cup of water

Method:

  1. Bring the water to a gentle boil and add the lavender and lemon zest.
  2. Brew the lavender and lemon zest for a couple of minutes
  3. Add and mix the sugar until combined and for another 8 minutes
  4. Strain the simple syrup into a bowl and let cool

This is such a refreshing drink after a long day. True to the show, it's unique and it's a feel good cocktail that I needed to create and design in Binging with Babish fashion. Go try it this weekend and let me know what you think!

This has been one of the most fun cocktails that I have made and you should definitely check out the other cocktail creations!
